10 Seconds Of Your Day That Always Makes A Difference.

This routine is the necessary commitment in order to create the perfect haircut.
  1. Apply a couple drops of oil between the blades at the scissors pivot area. Then open and close the blades several times to observe the micro-hairs slide out. The buildup of these micro-hairs interferes with the blades’ ability to have a smooth glide.

  2. Next place a small amount of oil along the length of both blades. Begin at the pivot and continue to the tip. Use a soft chamois to clean and then wipe all the excess oil from scissors. Too much oil will encourage the collection of cut hair.

  3. Scissors tension settings always adjust more easily and accurately when they are clean. It’s okay to loosen and then tighten the tension system while cleaning scissors, as it exposes even more small hairs needing to be removed.

  4. Look over all the features of the scissors for physical damage or discoloration. Always wipe off any cutting lotions, color, or bleach that contacts the scissors.

  5. Use a soft chamois to clean scissors after every haircut tp keep them in pristine condition.

  6. Oil will not remove a buildup of water-soluble hair product residue on the scissors. The oil mixes with the salon products to create a dull film that covers the scissors making them feel sticky & less precise.

  7. Rinse your scissors weekly or more often with warm water to remove any water-soluble coating. Wipe dry with chamois & apply light oil and you will notice the improved smoothness of the blades.

  8. Never leave scissors wrapped in a damp towel or put them away wet in a plastic container. Each scissor should have its own safe storage space and need to be clean, dry and the blades closed.

This simple maintenance process personalizes the connection between the haircutter and their scissors. Scissors have delicate and precise characteristics that require a never-ending commitment from the stylist.
